stop shopping!

when I was taking yesterday's picture in Gowanus, I looked up and saw this painted at the top of a building about a block away...funny. what do you think it means??

    if everyone stopped shopping we'd be in more trouble than we already are!
    I think this artist needs to be more succinct.
